Field Technician

Position Title: Field Tech

Location: Minneapolis/St. Paul Metro Area, but not necessarily in our office

Job Summary

We’re not like other IT organizations. We’re not looking for geeks or geniuses or specialists. We’re looking for the ultimate generalist with a panache for macOS. That’s what we know. That’s what we fix. A Field Tech will be the day-to-day support for our clients, supporting end users and infrastructure, and often as the technical expert for small and medium businesses.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite and remote support for desktops and servers of all flavors
  • Understanding of Active Directory, EntraID, or Google Workspace environments
  • Deep knowledge of email systems and troubleshooting Exchange, Google Apps, and other mail platforms
  • Knowledge of networking, routing, firewalls and remote VPNs
  • Understand and build solutions based on client’s technological needs; not sales quotas
  • Juggle many clients and tasks without fear
  • Clear, concise and precise communication is an absolute must
  • Help folks Get Back to Work

Qualifications

  • 4-7 years of direct customer support in a technical role
  • Apple or Microsoft Technical Certifications are highly desired
  • Jamf, Intune, Mosyle, WorkspaceONE or other MDM certification(s)
  • CompTIA Network+ would be swell
  • Knowledge of common software packages that our clients use – Adobe Creative Suite, font management, digital asset management, Microsoft Office products and more
  • A desire to inspire the creative work of others
  • A love for ambiguity and ability to handle several work streams throughout any given week
  • The ability and desire to manage your own schedule, set priorities, and communicate those clearly with the client

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate, with occasional 80’s music.

Understanding Pantone is one thing, but seeing color is not a necessity.

Starting salary is expected to be $70,000-$90,000/year, but negotiable based on experience.
