If any of you, our fearless followers and readers, are like me, you’re having a very hard time justifying the expense of purchasing an iPad. Yes, they’re cool; yes, they’re sexy; unfortunately I already have multiple devices that do all it can and more so spending $499+ just doesn’t seem practical. That said, I now present an application that may help some of you make the leap from lusting after this piece of technology to being a proud owner of one. That application is Roambi.
Roambi is pretty slick, it will allow you to view static data from spreadsheets as interactive charts. Not only does it pull items from standard excel document but it can work with information from various other sources, such as MS Sharepoint, MS Reporting Services, IBM Cognos and Salesforce CRM.
A couple of the data views incorporated into the application are the Trend and Pod views. The trend view shows key performance indicators over a period of times while the Pod view allows the enduser to combine multiple charts and graphs into a single dashboard. In addition, the application supports “intelligent skinning,” which will allow for complete customization in how the application looks. Meaning you can incorporate your businesses unique branding into the report. Color scheme, logos, you name it, you can add it.
How much does all this cost? The developer, Mellmo!, has a multi-tier level of pricing available. The basic package, for the individual, is free, while solutions for the enterprise level start @ $795.
