In The Heart Case Study

In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theatre (HOBT) is a professional theater founded in 1973 by a group of community artists. Their mission states: Through performances, ceremony and teaching, In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theatre explores and celebrates the human experience and the wonders of the world’s natural and cultural richness. HOBT presents 2-3 full-length original productions each year along with educational programs, visiting artist performances and the annual May Day Parade and Festival.

HOBT came to The Foundation after they changed office staff and needed to find an IT service provider that understood the needs of a nonprofit organization. The Foundation has experience being the IT service provider for other local nonprofits including Minnesota Center for Book Arts and Graywolf Press.
We were very impressed with Chip [Pearson] and Laura [Smith] and how they knew what our needs were, and then actually working with Aaron [Hintgen] and Patrick [McAvey] on problems and to find the solutions. It was calming and we are able to breath again! said Paul Robinson Company Manager for HOBT.
For their IT support HOBT decided to take advantage of The Foundation’s outbound service. When HOBT needs technical support, they call and schedule a technician to come to their office for that particular issue. The Foundation technical services team helps resolve issues that slow down an office such as email problems, printers not printing and erratic backup behavior.

A typical outbound support appointment consists of a Foundation technician coming to your office, assessing the situation, resolving the issue and/or making recommendations for steps in the future. Finally, the technician will explain to you what was done and leave you with a thoroughly documented job ticket for reference.

We know that when we are having a problem, be it in FileMaker pro, with the Internet/e-mail service, to asking about opinions on new equipment, The Foundation will be there to assist HOBT in anyway possible, said Paul Robinson.

Tell us what you think.
